Our Story

Ten years in the making.

OpenPaint began as a sketch in 2014. This is the long road from that idea to a living, cross-platform art platform. (Draft — we'll flesh this out.)

  1. 2014

    The first sketch

The original idea: people painting together in a relay, and a museum where those collaborative works live. Drawn up on an iPhone, a decade ahead of the tools to build it.

  2. 2023–2025

    The hard part

Years on the thing nobody else has: a deterministic, bit-exact painting engine that renders identically across iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and the web — verified by hash.

  3. 2026

    The museum comes alive

Paintings stop being flat images. Every work keeps its full performance and re-paints itself on approach — the same pixels, everywhere.

  4. Next

    Open, social, collaborative

An open format, a brushset store, artist rooms, and the collaborative relay that started it all.
